To develop and grow, a faction must terraform neighboring planets into their home environments while competing with the other factions. Chart your course and remake planets as you see fit in Gaia Project. Fourteen unique factions stand ready to boldly take their first steps into the cosmos while building structures to generate resources, researching new technology, and uniting planets to form powerful federations. Explore the vast reaches of space and convert planets to meet your faction’s unique environmental needs as you seek to tighten your grasp on the galaxy. True to the foundations that made Terra Mystica a massive success, this box invites one to four players to forge their own galactic empires. As years went by and I started actually doing the math, I started to realize that these games had complex, multi-round strategy that went as deep as you were willing to dive.Set your sights on distant stars and strive to colonize the galaxy in Gaia Project, the follow-up to the smash hit Terra Mystica! The rules were a little dense sometimes, but the gameplay was sort of just fun - so long as I feed my people or stayed out of debt, I could coast along enjoying the little bonuses. I would treat most heavier euros (especially those with lots of content and options, like Terraforming Mars or Stefan Feld games or Agricola) as a sandbox. I think I've run into this a lot, especially in early days. What I mean by this is that if I were smarter I would probably be able to think more turns ahead, and then I would brush up against the complexity of the game more. My big disclaimer is that I'm not particularly good at either game, and I'm probably not smart enough to find On Mars difficult. This is an interesting take I hadn't heard. Your post is still really easy to read though.

Your English is great, by the way, but you have a lot of run-on sentences where multiple main clauses are joined by commas rather than full stops or semi-colons. I have played On Mars but I thought I'd weigh in with my Gaia Project opinion as a lot of people like Gaia Project (it's why I bought it!) but after 15 plays I sold it 4 months later for less than half the price.

For reference, my favourite games are Twilight Struggle, Brass Birmingham and Go. If that sounds like your kind of game - great!Įven though there are several different factions with different abilities, the core game wasn't interesting enough. Honestly, it felt more like a puzzle game to me than a boardgame. There is very little player interaction so you can plan the entire game out from the first turn and it's unlikely other players will disrupt your plans. I loved the theme and the art but I really couldn't like Gaia Project. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
